Solo Show at Better Go South

The starting point for the works is a standardized placeholder image, as it appears in digital space when an image is missing, still loading, or unavailable. In its translation into acrylic painting on canvas, this technical symbol loses its neutrality and becomes a physical, singular object. The absence marked by the placeholder itself becomes a presence: visible, material, and exhibitable. A central element of the exhibition is the art transport crate, which is not only packaging but an integral part of the work. It refers to storage, circulation, market mechanisms, and institutional frameworks. Similar works and concepts repeatedly play a role in the artist’s oeuvre.

The works are situated in the context of a digital image culture in which images are constantly produced, loaded, replaced, and moved. Here, the placeholder becomes a form of thought: an image without content that structures perception. It rejects narrative and message and opens up a space for reflection on images, meaning, and their conditions.
